Moving towards work

useful skillsAll members who engage in courses are seen as moving closer to employment. They are supported through structured individual guidance to meet short and long term goals and to work towards accredited qualifications if they so wish. Cyrenians Cymru and its members were proud to receive no fewer than four awards from the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education in 2005. Members won individual and group awards while two tutors were singled out for outstanding work.

Training and Employment

Significant investment in the Swansea Bay area, including the SA1 development and the new marina, will increase numbers of job opportunities in the region. We want our service-users to benefit from these opportunities, along with our own work initiatives, to break the cycle of poverty and deprivation that accompanies long-term unemployment.
We recognise that this can only be achieved through partnerships and support, and we are building links with construction, marine businesses, local retailers, public and third sector employers to maximise opportunities for Cyrenians service-users. Job opportunities will be advertised through www.swanseabayjobs.org
